I am so excited to be coaching again! I love to be on the pool deck among all the swimmers. I grew up on the water in the Florida Keys and have always been a good swimmer and enamored by the ocean. Coming from a small town, there wasn't a swim team until I was 12, but I joined right away and have swum ever since. I began lifeguarding at 15 and teaching lessons and coaching that same summer. Being able to be an integral part of my little team from the beginning was a great experience. After I left home, I worked as a pool manager and in an after school activities program in California. When I moved again, this time back to Florida, I started coaching for an amazing team, Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club (ATAC). At the time, they had over 500 swimmers in the summer and 250 year-round swimmers and yet it somehow still felt like a family. I became an integral part there as well, coaching two novice groups and an age group. I also taught swim lessons, managed the swim lesson program, and helped with advertising, meets, team registrations, and more. Just before my first son was born, I coached for another team, SST, in Savannah, GA. I am so thankful to have been a part of so many great programs and am looking forward to being a part of the Hollin Hills Bluefish and the NVSL!
When I'm not on the pool deck, you can usually find me with my nose in a nutrition book, playing games with my two awesome kiddos, hiking, gardening or cooking something fantastic. I have lived all over the country, thanks to the US Coast Guard and my amazing husband, and traveled even more of it. I have camped all over California, swum in many Florida springs and seas, hiked many a muddy Oregon trail, seen the East Coast beaches, visited New England towns, driven across the country four times, white water rafted a dozen times in the Carolinas, seen the reefs of the Bahamas, and lived, hiked and foraged in mountains of Italy. We lived in the US Virgin Islands for the last two years where my daughter at 19 months old swam out in a bay with goggles on and saw her first turtle. She's been in love with them ever since. Each time we move, the first thing I locate are all the pools. My life is not complete with out the WATER! And I can't wait to share an amazing summer next to it with all your amazing kids. Cheers!
Michael is in his third year as an assistant coach for the Hollin Hills Bluefish. He's been a Bluefish since age 8, when his family moved to Hollin Hills, and he holds many individual team records for butterfly, freestyle, individual medley and backstroke, as well as relay team records. He was a NVSL All Star for six consecutive seasons. He started swimming year round with a club, Fort Belvoir Swim Team, at age 9 and completed four years of varsity swimming West Potomac High School, where he was selected to the Virginia All-State team. He's earned many other swimming honors, including two high school team MVP awards, runner up MVP for a high school individual sport and a Washington Post 2013 All-Met honorable mention. Michael is currently attending Marist College in New York state, where he is a member of the swim team. In addition to swimming, Michael plays water polo and basketball.
I have swum with the Bluefish since before I was eight. I've also swum on a local club team, FBST, for over ten years. I have gone to many high level swim competitions such as the NVSL All Stars, USA Swimming Junior Olympics, and Junior Champs. Currently, I attend the College of William and Mary and I have enjoyed swimming with its club team. I hold Bluefish records in 15-18 breaststroke, as well as the 11-12 and 15-18 records for the medley relay. I am looking forward to sharing my swimming knowledge with the Hollin Hills Bluefish.
My name is Charles Fessler-Krebs. I have been a Bluefish for 12 seasons now and am looking forward to continuing growing with the community by coaching this summer!
I have been to All-Stars one time for butterfly. This winter, I finished 5th in the region for the 100 Fly and 6th for the 50 freestyle, and I was the swim team MVP at my high school.
I am super excited to coach this season and hopefully help some of our younger swimmers develop into amazing athletes for this team! I look forward to see everyone again come time for the first practice!!
I'm 16 and going into my junior year at West Potomac High School . I run track and play lacrosse for my school. I have been a Bluefish since my family joined the pool in 2007. Last summer was my first year coaching, and I love working with the little Bluefish. We had a really fun season last year! So many kids improved so much and we all had fun. I know we'll have a great season this summer.
