Bluefish Minis
This season we are excited to again offer a mini Bluefish program to our swim team. If your child is interested in the swim team but has not yet passed the Hollin Hills Pool swim test, then he/she may be interested in the Bluefish Minis! Swimmers aged 4-6 may participate in the Minis program, provided they are already "water-safe". Minis do not need to be able to complete a 25 (one length of the pool), but they must be able to swim 5-10 yards on their own and be able to make it safely to the wall anytime they need a break. The Mini program is perfect for younger siblings of current swimmers, as well as for those children who love to swim and want to explore the team experience! Until they are ready, the minis will not compete at meets, other than in lollipop races*. The cost for this program will be $100.
Minis practice will begin the week of June 10 2024. Practice times are Tues, Wed, Thurs 6-6:30 and 6:30-7.
*At Saturday home meets, our minis are invited to participate in a "lollipop" race. Minis swim one length of the pool. They may use fins, kick boards, or swim with an older swimmer. When they reach the end of the pool, swimmers receive a lollipop. This race is swum at the conclusion of individual events. It is recommended that minis arrive at the pool by 10:00 to be ready for the race. This is a fun event!
