Friday Night Potluck Dinners

It is a Bluefish tradition to hold a potluck dinner on Friday evenings before swim meets.  The first pre-meet potluck dinner of 2019 will be on June 21.

Friday evening practices will be GAME DAYS.  Practice times are 5:00 - 5:30 for 11 & older, and 5:30 - 6:00 for 10 & under.   ALL age groups will meet with the coaches on deck at 6:00 for a spirit activity and last minute instructions from the coaches.  The coaches will then lead the swimmers to the pavilion to open the potluck.  Swimmers should not come down to the potluck before the coaches.

The potlucks take place on the playground and begin once the practices are over - between 6:00 - 6:15.   The kids are hungry after practice, so please have your donation to the potluck on the tables by 6:00.   All families are encouraged to attend the potluck dinners whether their children are swimming in the Saturday meet or not ~ it is a great time to get to know and socialize with other swim team families.  Please bring a pasta dish or other entree, salad, or dessert to share.

Our potluck dinners are informal but require a little bit of help to set up and break down.  Parents of the age groups are asked to help set-up, serve, and clean-up the potlucks according to the following schedule:

Friday, June 17 -- 9 & 10s

Friday, June 24 -- 11-12/13-14s

Friday, July 1 -- 8 & unders/15-18s

Friday, July 8 -- 9 & 10s/11-12s

Friday, July 15 -- 8 & unders/13-14s

Set-up directions are available in the swim team closet and attached at top of this page.

If there is a home meet on Saturday, we will need help setting up the pool for the meet.  We usually start this set up at about 7:00 PM.

Swimmers should leave the pool before 9 PM to get a good night's sleep before Saturday's meet!
