Time Trials on June 16
Dear Bluefish,
Thanks to those of you who braved the torrential downpours to celebrate at our 2nd Luau!
We Bluefish are NOT afraid of water, not even when it's in the form of rain. Everyone maintained good spirits and had a good time!
The swim meet season is just around the corner! On Saturday, June 16, the team will swim time trials at Little Hunting Park Pool, 7000 Canterbury Lane, Alexandria. The meet starts promptly at 9:00, and swimmers should arrive at LHP by 8:00 to prepare for warm-ups.
Please LOG IN to hollinhills.swimtopia.com and click on the "Time Trials at Little Hunting Park" link under Upcoming Events. Once there, you can indicate if your child will be able to attend the meet (strongly encouraged so benchmark times can be established) AND you will be able to sign up for a volunteer job.
***Swimmers under 7 (includes minis) generally do not participate in time trials. Please check with Coach Liza if you aren't sure if your child should participate.***
If you know your full summer schedule, you can indicate through the Swimtopia website your swimmer's availability, and your volunteer preferences, for most of the season's meets.
I'll send a reminder about the meet, and any new details that I might hear about it, later in the week. If you don't want me to pester you about declaring availability, go to the ASAP (or at least by Wednesday).
FOR OUR NEW FAMILIES, here's a short blurb about time trials:
What are Time Trials?
Time Trials is a mock meet held on the Saturday before the first A Meet. We have a long-standing tradition of swimming time trials with Little Hunting Park. Swimmers swim each of the four strokes for practice, experience, and to establish a benchmark time for the season. It also serves as a practice run for all officials and volunteers before the first official meet of the season. Score is not kept at this meet, and no awards are given.
